Dog & Soccer

We adopted Chief a little over a year ago. So some of you know him. Hahaha. But we love the guy. He is so sweet and so much fun. Not the smartest, but I will trade "great with kids" for smarts. We are hoping to get our fence in next month, not sure how long fencing an acre will take. But once it is in Chief may get a buddy. But maybe that'll wait until Christmas.

So we did soccer this year for the first time. Actually really enjoyed it. Aliyah burned out after about 3 games. But they all did pretty well. Soccer was different than gymnastics- a whole different style of running, you know. But Brynja adapted and they all got pretty brave going after the ball. We were thinking we'd play more this fall. But we decided to buy the violin and guitar instead. So maybe we'll do basketball.

The kids

Aliyah has grown up so fast. I think that happens when you are the youngest. She is in 1st grade and loves eating lunch with her friends. She still has the sassy spunk and a touch a feisty that we just can't figure out where it came from. She also has a talent in art from the looks of it. And she is still trying out other things like sports and whatever else.

Josh is also growing up so fast. He's ready to try things that mom and dad are still fearing. Like tackle football. Yikes!I am trying to head him towards basketball or pretty much anything else. But we are trying everything, so who knows what the true love will end up being. He has started guitar lessons, and needs to do piano, he seems to have a natural thing for that. Didn't come from mom.

Brynja, our almost a teenager, sassy, independent and super creative girl. Scary having one this age. We used to think kids in their teens seemed like such big kids. It's amazing how perspective changes as your own get older and you realize they are not so big as you used to think. She has changed from competition gymnastics to violin and choir, with a touch of soccer. We love this schedule a lot better. And she's got incredible music teachers. It's hard to believe she'll be in junior high next year.

It's About Time

Well, since we pretty much suck at keeping in touch with everyone this is my new answer. So I am going to just try and catch up on the bigger things and then we'll see if the little things can find some room.
So, this was the big 13th anniversary. Seems so crazy to think it has been that long. It doesn't feel like it has been so long. And looking back there has been so much that has happened.
So, here we are: 3 kids, 1 dog, 3 frogs, 1 lizard, and numerous fish, and the 2 birds. And that would be our family right now.
